The El-Gitar is now a days one of the most played instruments in the world. Earlier was Acoustic Gitars used, but then the technology came and gitars got eletrical. Gitar is also popular because it is possible to play song without other instruments, only gitar.
Drums are and have been used to get the main rhythm for songs. It is not easy to play a song only with drums, but good drum players are able to do it.
Piano is a nice instrument. It is possible to make melodies and even play other instruments with the piano, at last they which are make now a days. Pianos are such as the gitars able to make songs without other instruments needed.
Vocal (microphone) is the voice, the singer. The microphone makes the sound louder. Microphones don't only get used to record or make voices louder, but it is also possible to play with an instrument infront of a microphone and it will get louder, or record the sound.

The quarter note is the most used note. The duration of it is 1 second. The whole note is to make long sounds, which duration is 4 seconds. The "rest" sign, or break sign, shows when to stop playing. The length depends on what sign it is, which are shown at the picture.
